Privacy Notice
Last updated: 20 September 2026
This notice explains what personal information Precision Electronics Repair collects, why we collect it, how we look after it and what rights you have. If anything here isn't clear, please ask.
Who we are
Precision Electronics Repair, based in Watford, Hertfordshire, is the data controller for the information described here.
- Email: info@precisionelectronicsrepair.co.uk
- Phone: 07522 124273
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and postal address.
- Device details: make, model, serial or IMEI number, the fault reported and anything you tell us about how it happened.
- Job records: your booking form, diagnostic findings, quotes, approvals, work carried out, test results and photographs of your device and its circuit boards.
- Correspondence: emails, messages and call notes relating to your repair.
- Payment records: what you paid and when. We do not store your card details.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To carry out your repair — diagnosing the fault, quoting, doing the work, testing it and returning your item. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To keep a record of the work — photographs and notes at each stage, so we can honour the warranty and show what was done if a question arises later. Lawful basis: legitimate interests (protecting both you and us with an accurate record).
- To contact you about your repair, including when your item is ready. Lawful basis: performance of a contract.
- To meet legal duties — keeping financial and tax records. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
We do not use your information for marketing unless you ask us to, and we never sell it.
Photographs of your device
We photograph every repair at each stage. These photos are part of your job record and are kept private.
We may use anonymous close-up photographs of circuit boards to show examples of our work. We will not use anything that identifies you or your device — no names, addresses, serial numbers, IMEI numbers, or screen contents — and we will ask your permission first if there is any chance the image could identify you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or trade your information. We share it only where it is needed to run the service:
- Google (Google Workspace): our email and file storage.
- Supabase: secure storage for booking forms and uploaded photos.
- GitHub: hosts this website.
- Couriers, such as Royal Mail: your name and address, to return your item.
- Our accountant and HMRC: where required for tax and accounting.
- Others, if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- Job records, including photographs: 6 years after the repair. We may keep the basic repair record for longer, because our workmanship warranty lasts for as long as you own the device and we need the record to honour it.
- Enquiries that don't become a job: 12 months.
- Financial records: 6 years, as required for tax purposes.
How we protect it
- Accounts holding your data are protected with two-factor authentication.
- Photographs and booking forms are stored privately and are not publicly accessible.
- Completed booking forms are locked so they cannot be altered after you submit them, and you are emailed your own copy as a record.
- Only the business owner has access to customer data.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong;
- ask us to delete information, where we are not required to keep it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it;
- ask us to transfer it to you or another provider.
To exercise any of these, email info@precisionelectronicsrepair.co.uk. We will respond within one month.

Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
